A Healthy Life franchise means a healthy business!

Healthy Life has been in existence for over 35 years and is a retail group of franchisee and company owned and operated stores. These stores are operated under a Franchise Agreement with Healthy Life Partners Pty Ltd which is a fully owned subsidiary of Health Minders International Pty Limited. There are currently over 120 stores operating across all states and territories of Australia.

A typical Healthy Life store is located in a medium to large shopping centre, primarily in a capital city or larger provincial centre.

The goal is to build a business around quality, innovation and exciting natural healthcare products.
A co-ordinated marketing program is provided to all our stores with elements of both mass consumer marketing and targeted loyalty based programs.  

The Healthy Life name and image is one of health and well-being, superior quality, value for money and exceptional customer service.   1. How many Healthy Life stores are there?

There are currently over 120 Healthy Life stores in all states of Australia.

  1. What does a Healthy Life franchise cost?

For a new site the price including stock would range upwards from $300,000.For existing sites the price is purely dependent on factors such as the store turnover, profitability, period of lease to run.

  1. What is the length of my Franchise Agreement?

The Healthy Life Franchise Agreement is 5 years for a new store. If you take over an existing store your agreement will run for the remainder of the term on that store. Franchisees have the ability to renew their agreement upon expiry subject to defined conditions.

  1. What are the fees?

There is a monthly royalty fee of 1.5% + GST of gross sales, an annual administration fee of $2028.99 + GST + CPI, and the fee to join the Healthy Life franchise is $25,000 + GST

  1. Is there a marketing fee and if so, what type of marketing support will I receive?

There is a monthly marketing contribution of 1% + GST of gross sales. Marketing is an essential part of the development of the Healthy Life brand. These activities include:

    1. Development and distribution of the Healthy Life News
    2. Development and promotion of Club Life and the management and utilization of the Club Life database
    3. Management of the Club Life rewards and automated companion selling program
    4. Distribution of press releases to the media
    5. Production of promotional literature
    6. Point-of-purchase displays
    7. High quality advertising materials
    8. Healthy Life Versity e-learning

We believe the net result of all this activity enhances the dominance of Healthy Life in the market and expands consumer awareness of the Healthy Life brand.

  1. What are the services a new franchisee receives from Healthy Life before a store opens?

Because determining a good location is so important, Healthy Life will source prospective sites or assist you in the selection process should you have a particular location in mind that is acceptable to Healthy Life. After site selection, we will proactively assist and support you in negotiating the lease with your landlord. Because we have over 120 stores in major and sub major shopping centre and strip locations we have a very good knowledge of what constitutes a competitive lease for a health food store. It is a also important to realise that because we are a national brand with over 120 stores we are a preferred health food option for landlords. Healthy Life will provide you with guidance and advice in the design and construction of your Healthy Life store.

  1. Who will hold the head lease on my site?

You will be the signatory and lease holder. From our experiences franchisees prefer to hold the lease because it gives them the added security of being in control of their location.

  1. Does Healthy Life help me when my store is about to open?

Yes. One of our State Retail Managers will provide support for your store opening by assisting you with merchandising and employee training.

  1. May I sell my franchise right?

You may sell to another approved Healthy Life franchisee and this is explained in the franchise agreement.

  1. Why should I purchase a Healthy Life franchise instead of any other health food store?

  1. Does Healthy Life require franchisees to be actively involved in operating the store?

It is preferred that a franchisee be actively involved in operating the store because a Healthy Life store responds better to the personal input and attention of the owner. It is essential that you become personally involved in all aspects of your business. You may need to work many long hours – particularly in the beginning. You should be willing to and capable of performing all sales, promotion and other functions that are required on a daily basis. The demands on you personally can be minimised by your ability to attract, motivate and retain the right staff.
